Popay

POPAY

Born in 1971.
Muralist, painter and graphic artist, Popay pound a dense, generous, visceral and organic. His world
plunges us into a jungle where saturated colors are changing with strange creatures.
A native of Barcelona has fueled his imagination with Combas paintings and Picasso, and was
largely inspired by the comics and animated films. His work has taken shape in music, because
claims the influence of psychedelics of Jimi Hendrix and techno Spiral Tribe. Armed with his
sprays, airbrushes or brushes, Popay invests city walls and fills the canvas. But the artist is also a
true geek, fan of the first hour of digital tools. His palette graphics enabled him to hone his craft and
disseminate it widely: he has done illustrations for newspapers, album covers, photo prints and
other video projections.
If his first drawings were born on tables in the school and the Metro trains, they are exposed today
all over Europe in the high places of contemporary art. A rich background that has made him one of
the leading figures in street art.
